The kitchen was decent and clean, and the sheets looked clean, though the beds were old and lumpy. The tiki bar and entertainment were decent, typical Florida, nothing special. The food truck gets 4 stars. I wouldn't trust the pool after what we found in the boat toilets, and I'll never return. We rented two boats for our large group, Sea Turtle and Calypso, and both smelled horribly of toilet waste as soon as we boarded. It wasn't our waste. We were so nauseated by the stench that we couldn't sleep. We went to the office for help. The cleaning lady stepped aboard and said, “OH THAT'S NASTY!” She poured in very strong chemicals, which only replaced the odor with a strong septic chemical smell. They don't pump the toilet waste, and I'm sure that must violate some state regulations. It was beyond disgusting. The upper deck of Calypso was filthy and in disrepair. Walking barefoot left the bottoms of our feet black, there was repair tape everywhere, and black mold around the windows and roof. I know humidity makes mold difficult in Florida, but it was there and probably inside the ceiling too. I came home with an upper respiratory infection, and my friend had to use her inhaler. These boats aren't safe. The photos can't be trusted. Maybe docking your own boat would be fine.

We spent four nights in the Captains Quarters, and it was a wonderful place to stay. It's adorable, quite spacious, and very clean. Sitting on the deck by the water and watching boats and seagulls was lovely. We also spent every evening at The Dive Bar, a great outdoor spot on the water right on the property. There's a nice heated pool there, too.

I arrived at the dock needing an emergency pump-out, and even though I was ten minutes past closing, the staff were kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They sorted out a big problem in no time. I recommend them 100% to locals and visitors.

The Seahorse houseboat was clean and in decent shape for a place that wasn't new, and everything worked. We stayed four nights last week. The marina was peaceful, with a lovely view from the back deck, and the pool, bar, and food truck were all great. But we had an extremely hard time sleeping because the outside lights were so bright and the window blinds were thin. I'll share a photo of the window beside our bed. If I returned, I'd bring dark sheets to cover the windows.

It was clean, quiet, and cozy, and felt new. My family and I spent two nights in the Yellow Tail houseboat and had a great time relaxing and watching boats pass all evening. The staff at Mangrove Marina were friendly, helpful, and attentive. We're already planning another visit.
