Comfort Inn & Suites Taylor - Detroit

I come in from Florida and stay at this hotel over and over. This time, I asked to use the meeting room for my daughter's baby shower. The manager was amazing and worked with everything I asked for. He never said no, and let us do what we wanted with the room as long as we put it back together. It was amazing. I highly recommend them.

Walter and Joseph, the manager, were great. The staff were so nice and helpful that my stay felt easy and stress-free. The price is extremely reasonable, and you can pay cash for your room with a reasonable security deposit. I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks, guys!

I've usually had a nice, clean stay here when I come to Dearborn, which is why I keep booking this hotel. This time was a letdown. I checked in around 11 PM, mostly slept, and left early, so I didn't get to enjoy the usual perks. The basic thing I needed, a working shower, wasn't there. The bathtub had barely any water pressure. Once I was in the shower with shampoo, it took about 15 minutes just to rinse off once. I stood there wet and freezing. I told the front desk before leaving and was told they'd fix it, but I was already checking out. I'm unhappy with this visit, especially since the hotel used to be reliable.

We booked and paid in full, but when we arrived about 30 minutes later, they refused to give us a room without a clear explanation and kept our $82. Apparently, that's part of their business model. Refund? Don't be silly. The reason in my case was almost performance art. My guest had a bicycle. I suggested putting it on a towel to keep water and dirt off the floor. The towel got dirty, as towels do in a hotel. Management acted as if it had reached an impossible level of dirt that no modern laundry could handle. They permanently banned me from renting there and kept the booking fee. If NASA needs material that can survive space, they should study Comfort Inn towels. JOSEPH, the manager, talks over you, interrupts, and bulldozes conversations. It feels like dealing with someone on a suspicious amount of amphetamines with no listening skills. If patience were required for the job, it wasn't in the hiring criteria. I don't know his educational background, but he has the confidence of a high school group-project slacker who thinks he carried the team. Their no-smoking policy is another joke. Staff smoke so much the lobby smells like a 1997 bowling alley. They finish their cigarettes like it's the final act of a Broadway play while you're waiting for help at the front desk. No rush, apparently. Some hotels try to provide hospitality. Comfort Inn turns a simple overnight stay into a masterclass in laziness, rudeness, and creative nonsense. If you want staff who treat every conversation like an argument, management that invents reasons to keep your money, towels with more protection than guests, and a no-smoking rule that applies to everyone except the staff, this is the place for the experience you didn't ask for. They seem to resent customers and specialize in confusion and cigarette smoke. It's impressive in its own bleak way.
