Super 8 Taylor/Detroit Area

When I woke up, I had itchy bumps on my left arm and back, and they bled when I scratched them. I suspect there were insects in the bed. The room smelled of cigarettes and had a broken window, and the back door wouldn’t lock. Strangers were going in and out all night. The woman at the front desk who wore black was rude and spoke to me like she was giving orders. The hotel is owned by Shia.

The rooms themselves were okay, but the construction, no breakfast despite advertising it, and the sketchy area all gave the place bad vibes.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the customer service was great. My room had just been remodeled and was very clean.

My family and I slept for three nights on mattresses with what looked like human blood, urine and bedbug droppings before we noticed. The manager was nice and apologetic, moved us to another room, paid for laundry, and refunded one night, saying that was the best she could do. Pest control came out and said there were no live bugs, but the photos still make me doubtful. The halls had roaches, and the hotel smelled very strongly of weed and cigarettes. I wouldn’t recommend it.
