We come twice a year, in winter and summer, and have a great stay each time. Parking can be hit or miss, though we've usually been lucky. Once or twice we had to wait somewhere else until a spot opened up. It's an older hotel, with some units remodeled, but the location for the price is hard to beat. I hope it's around for years. You just can't imagine finding this price and location in Telluride, and other ski towns don't have anything like it.
The location was great, but people were partying all night, and for $250 I expected better. Booking through AirBnB was a mistake. The management agency and the front desk didn't seem to communicate well. A week after I left, they tried charging me for a pet fee I'd already paid and for parking I never used.
I left my Telluride bluegrass fest poster in the room, like an idiot, and the staff went out of their way to pack it and ship it back. I've left things at hilton/marriott hotels before and never seen them again, so I really appreciated the effort. The room was solid, with a comfortable queen bed. The twin bed was probably better suited for kids. I liked having silverware, dishes, and a microwave. My windows faced the forrest, so I could enjoy the mountain air, and I had a few beers at the patio set beside the beautiful river. I'll always remember this place fondly and hope to make more memories there.
The staff were nice, the grounds were tidy, and the hot tubs seemed nice. The room itself was okay, but at any other place outside Telluride it would have been a $75-a-night room. I slept terribly both nights and wouldn't go back. The bed called a "king" was two twin beds pushed together, and sleeping in the middle wasn't possible. Both mattresses were shot, so I slept on the separate twin, which was somewhat bearable. The pillows were deflated and awful. There was no AC, just a small plug-in fan. Windows were on one side only, so even with it 70 degrees outside, I couldn't get enough airflow to cool the room. I slept with the windows open, but my room faced the parking lot and had no privacy.
The rooms are older, but we were there to spend time outdoors. It was clean, a great price, and the location was excellent, with an easy walk to town and the gondola. Parking gave us no trouble. We'll be back!
