The complimentary resort parking was appreciated, and I enjoyed the hotel’s amenities, especially the fresh omelettes at breakfast. The evening reception also had appetizers and complimentary cocktails, with a limit of two per person listed on the room. There were plenty of brochures for local wine tours and hot air balloon rides. A Front Desk agent recommended Grapeline Wine Tour, which she’d taken herself, and I enjoyed it too. She also offered complimentary water and snacks. I picked Embassy Suites for a birthday weekend because it was conveniently located, about 8 minutes from Old Town Temecula, 15 minutes from Wine Country, and 15-20 minutes from hot air balloon rides. I completed online check-in in the Hilton Honors app and chose a room, but when I arrived around 14:00, the Front Desk agent offered one that was ready, so I took it. I found it odd that she asked for my ID and credit card only after discussing the stay details. I thought those should have been requested at the start. The room was decent and had the basics: iron and ironing board, towels, tissues, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, TV, and more. But the hotel feels rundown and could use an update. The AC was very noisy and dusty, and sounds came through the walls. I was in the B area, where the elevators took forever. A worker I asked about stairs showed me where they were and apologized, saying the elevators there weren’t the best. I wish I’d known before choosing that room. The Front Desk agent who checked me in was nice, and the stay did the job.

The location was fine, and I only dealt with staff at check-in and check-out. But I regretted choosing this hotel because of its condition. I used to think Embassy Suites was a good mid-level option with modern decor and recommended it to colleagues, but they found this property disgusting. It looks like it hasn’t been updated in at least 20 years. The walls and carpets were stained and nasty, there was a strange metal scrape along the third-floor walls, and the tub was stained too. The room entry doors looked as if a simple push could break them down. I forgot to take pictures inside the room.

We stayed two nights while in town for the wedding of our closest friends, and it was a lovely place to retreat to after all the preparation and partying. We have no complaints. The beds were soft and cozy, the shower had hot water with a strong flow, and breakfast was a convenient start before a busy day. Our room was very clean, and the extra towels arrived before I even had time to call for them. BrAndOn at the front desk made check-in easy and was kind and memorable. On the wedding day, the front desk staff also went above and beyond to help us print an edited document for my husband to read from. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. My husband and I are definitely going to be Hilton people from here on out.

We moved to Staybridge Suites nearby and have had a significantly better experience. We’d booked Embassy Suites at the last minute because it was close to our home, where a slab leak had forced us into a long-term hotel stay during an already stressful time. A few staff interactions were fine, but several were disappointing. Jake at the bar was consistently unfriendly and unwelcoming when we came by for the complimentary evening drinks. Having worked in hospitality for years, I found the service and professionalism poor, and noticeably different from how other guests were treated. At the front desk, Cesar repeatedly interrupted me when I tried to explain our situation and ask about long-term options, and offered very little help. The room also didn’t feel properly cleaned, which was especially concerning during a longer stay. On multiple nights, guests upstairs partied loudly past midnight, yelling without anyone addressing it. Taken together, the problems made this location fall short when we especially needed dependable comfort and hospitality.

Being close to shopping, dining, Old Town Temecula, and an easy on-and-off from the I-15 is a real plus. There are lots of parking spaces, a very large pool, a handy hot tub, and Embassy Suites’ free breakfast every morning. The property was once a Doubletree-branded hotel and was among the area’s first major hotels, so it’s showing its age in some ways. Still, those conveniences outweigh that for me.
