Several things need attention. The shower base was slippery and had no rubber mat, and water sprayed through the gap in the sliding doors onto the floor. The pillowcases had a stiff, plastic-like feel. I asked at check-in for a room with a bathtub, but the receptionist didn’t know which rooms had one and told me to check my assigned room and let her know. The door initially wouldn’t open with the key card. I walked back to the front desk to get it recoded, only to find the problem was the door lock. Some common areas looked dirty or damaged, with stained carpets and cracked tiles by the elevators. I sent these concerns in the Hilton survey a week ago and haven’t heard back.

The breakfast “buffet” costs $20 for eggs and bacon. If we need a hotel again, we’ll look elsewhere. I was traveling with my severely handicapped sister, who has a hard time walking far, and specifically requested a first-floor room as close to the entrance as possible. We did get a first-floor room, but it was at the end of a very long hall, around a corner and all the way down another hallway. There was a major storm and the hotel wasn’t busy, which made the long walk especially frustrating.

The pool and lounge area are nice, and the hotel is decent for the price. But the garage has no gate and doesn’t feel safe right now. If you stay, park above ground at the very least. The staff are lovely, but they can’t do much about the hotel’s unsecured garage, where creeps can hide. I’m the second woman in a week to be chased out of the garage by a strange man screaming and wielding a stick or tire iron.

I checked out a day early from a five-night stay. The hotel was clean and the staff pleasant, but the room AC was awful, and when I called, they couldn’t lower or fix it. Room service every other day needs work: even after I asked, I ran out of toilet paper and had no washcloths, so I had to use the lobby restroom. The garage also lets anyone into the hotel without a card, which concerned me.
