Staybridge Suites Temecula Wine Country by IHG

Pretty average overall. The good parts first: the bed was really comfortable, the pillows were perfect, and the room was clean and well kept apart from a carpet stain. I liked the full-size fridge, small kitchen area, well-lit bathroom, and room size. The shower had good pressure and the pool area was nice. The breakfast had a good variety: yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, eggs, meat, potatoes, and more, though no gluten-free bread. We never saw the attendant to ask about other GF options. Old Town Temecula isn’t far away. There were some annoyances. We stayed two nights, but the room was never serviced despite the daily housekeeping notice. The desk chair couldn’t be adjusted and sat at the wrong height, so I hunched over and hurt my back. The TV wasn’t smart, with no Netflix or way to project from my phone. The person who checked me in was much friendlier than the one at checkout.

Doris at the front desk was amazing, helped us out, and got us settled quickly. Our room at the Staybridge Suites in Temecula was quiet, super clean, and comfortable, with a kitchen stocked with utensils, plates, and pots. The hotel is modern and up to date, with lots of amenities: laundry, pool, free breakfast, a fire pit, gym, and more. They also have complimentary happy hour each weekday evening. The location worked well for us, close to the 15 freeway, Promenade Mall, restaurants, and shops. I was very happy with what we got for the price. Great stay, and I’d happily come back next time we’re in Temecula.

The bathroom was small, and I wish it had a door so the light wouldn’t bother the other person getting ready. You also have to put your key card in to turn on the lights, so you can’t really leave things charging when you’re out. The room had a clean king bed and sofa bed, plenty of lamps, and a TV that can swivel. There’s an electric stove, microwave, full-size fridge, sink, dishes, and dishwasher, plus a coffee pot with grounds. It’s about 12-18 minutes from wine country, depending on traffic. The fitness center has two treadmills, two ellipticals, a broken rower, dumbbells, a bench, and a cable tower. There’s also a pool, hot tub, and grill. Complimentary breakfast runs 7:30-10:30 AM.

The place was immaculate, and it looked great. The staff seemed kind and friendly, and those are the reasons I’d give it five stars. But the AC wasn’t working, and they wanted us to move to another floor away from our other family members. Then, when I went to collect my packages, a young woman at the desk said they’d opened one because they thought it belonged to the supervisor and thought I’d checked out. A couple of weeks later, I found they’d charged $986 to my account, apparently assuming I’d extended my stay when I hadn’t. They replaced the money, but only after I contacted Corporate. Those two things were the only negatives.
