Spark by Hilton Tempe Phoenix Airport

The breakfast was a handy start to the day, with bagels, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and cereal, and parking was easy. Our room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the staff made us feel welcome. The hotel was clean and comfortable, close to both the airport and ASU. It was good value, and we’d happily stay again when we’re in the Phoenix or Tempe area.

We had no hot water during the remodeling, and the front desk just said, “I’m sorry, there’s absolutely nothing we can do for you.” That was really frustrating. The beds also weren’t true queens, they were full size.

Mary and Joseph at the desk were the best part of my stay. They were warm and helpful. The room felt fresh, with soft beds and good TVs, though it was pretty minimal. Spark is a new Hilton rehab of the building, aiming for a nice two-star option by the airport. Some things, like the snack store, weren’t ready. There’s no shuttle, but they have a deal with Lyft for airport rides. Maybe it was just the weekend, but I thought the price was a little high for what I expected. With Honors, it was okay.

The room was spacious, but the water problems and how they handled them ruined what should’ve been a good vacation. We booked six nights. The first night was fine, then at 5:30 am on the second morning there was no water, and by 8:00 am it was only cold. The same thing happened the next night and morning. They refunded one night’s room cost and one night’s points. When we asked to move hotels, they told us we were on our own and might as well leave. General manager Mira Hinton wouldn’t speak with my husband on the phone or with me at the desk. I was told they wouldn’t go back and forth about it, and that we could find another hotel ourselves if we weren’t happy. The room phone also didn’t work and couldn’t be fixed during our stay, so we had to use our own phone to call the hotel whenever we needed something or had a problem. Added 3/24/2026: Now that we’ve been home for a while, we’ve found out they aren’t refunding most of the 73,000 points we would’ve used for all six nights. They returned 15,000, which might change to 30,000, but that’s all. Keeping our points for two nights without water or with cold water doesn’t seem right. Hilton, you dropped the ball. I also noticed the number they told us to call is this hotel. Why would I call when they wouldn’t talk to me while I was there? I’ll make sure everyone I know hears about our stay and your service.
