Yelton Manor Bed & Breakfast

Yelton Manor is close to the beach, restaurants, and shops, but still quiet and relaxing. We met a few other guests and had such nice conversations about life. It feels like a welcoming place where people can be friends and share a meal if they want. The coffee and brownies were a sweet touch, too. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and super clean, with thoughtful touches throughout. The beds were so comfortable it was hard to get up! And breakfast was incredible every morning, homemade, fresh, full of flavor, with the host bringing a hot meal right to you. Such kind people and great food. Can't wait to come back for another relaxing getaway.

The house is packed with books, and has so many lovely little nooks and crannies. Our room was nicely decorated, with a large, comfortable bed. The beach is very close, and you can walk to the restaurants and harbor walk. Breakfast was fine. The housekeeper/owner? seemed overworked or understaffed, and our breakfast table hadn't been cleaned, there was sticky syrup on it. Still, I'd go back and recommend the place.

I came from Chicago for a cozy solo weekend and would love to return with my family. The owner kindly opened her home even though it was usually closed during the off-season. Victoria greeted me, upgraded my room since I was the only guest, and after that it felt like I had the whole place to myself. The house is full of antique furniture and trinkets, plus hundreds of books across every genre. I could have spent days looking around, and would have loved more time reading by the fireplace. It's a couple of minutes by car from downtown, and walkable when the weather allows. The beach and a maritime museum are next door, so I'll have to come back after the snow melts. Victoria was recovering from an injury and couldn't prepare food, so she left out fruit and muffins instead. That was fine with me, since there are places in town to get food or coffee. There's also a Keurig machine you can use. I'm still dreaming about this charming historical home, and would be happy to see South Haven when more of the cute shops are open.

The breakfast was excellent and the service was great. It's a charming B&B in a fabulous spot, just a very short walk from Lake Michigan. Our room was spacious and clean, and the house has lots of books, with reading and sitting nooks all over. Parking can get tight on busy days, as their site notes.
