The location was the only thing that kept the experience from being horrible. The place doesn't look like the pictures and needs a lot of work. Bring your own cleaning wipes if you want to take a chance on it. The room was awful, the bed hurt my back, there was so much mold, and the windows were dirty. Most of the front desk staff seemed not to know basic things when I asked questions, and they just said it was an okay area. The cleaning staff don't speak English. I speak Spanish, which helped, but even then they took a long time to respond. I asked 24 hours ahead if we could check out a day early, but they kept saying nobody authorized could help. We also asked for checkout confirmation and got the same response. It wasn't worth the money. Parking costs $30 a day and is first come, first served. Ugh.

We could walk everywhere we needed to go, and buses across the street took us around town and over to the bridges. The location was perfect. I also liked that the car was in a gated area, so I always knew it was safe, and so were we.

Nancy and the staff made my birthday week special, and I appreciate every one of them. The deal they gave us to upgrade my family to the penthouse was the cherry on top. Great value for the money! The hotel is right in the heart of fisherman wharf, with pier 39 just a five-minute walk away. Everything you need is within walking distance, which makes it perfect for families.

We paid $2600 for three nights in the ‘Penthouse’ on top of the hotel, and calling it a penthouse is a stretch. The bed was comfortable, which was the only good part. There was mold around the windows, peeling wallpaper, and an old, chipped shower and bathroom. The kitchen looked like it was from the 80s and needs a serious revamp before anyone calls the place a penthouse. The windows hadn't been cleaned, and the patio was in similarly poor shape. It needs renovating before they charge $800+ a night. Homeless people out front shouted all night, “you can’t stay there” 👀.
