The building feels really run down, with lots of things broken, chipped, or stained, as if previous guests haven't treated it well. Still, there were no signs of bugs, I didn't get bitten, the water pressure was good, the shower got hot enough, the linens were relatively clean, and there was a handy phone charger in the desktop. For a very cheap room without amenities, it seems like a place where you won't get bed bugs. The staff deserve five stars. I'd made the mistake of booking a smoking room, and the front desk staff did a lot to help fix that. They were kind, accommodating, and worked well together. The location is easy to find in central Jersey, with little traffic to keep me awake or make getting in and out difficult.

Even though it was very cold outside and I ended up staying, I considered sleeping in my car. That's how uncomfortable and disgusting the room was. The shower ceiling was caving in, every surface had grime, the room smelled like filth, and my socks turned black from the dirty floor. I left days ago and I'm still upset the owners charge people without keeping the rooms clean. If you need somewhere to stay, I'd bet on anywhere else. Find a different place.

The room was updated, clean, and had a comfortable bed, and the owners are very nice. I liked the hard floors since they make the room feel cleaner. There's no continental breakfast, but they do have free coffee in the morning, though it wasn't good. Pretty decent for the money, and I'd stay again.

The bathroom was the best part, really big, with the toilet in its own separate area so someone else can use the sink and shower. The suite with a king and full bed was surprisingly spacious, and the renovation looks good for this kind of hotel. The king bed is raised, so you have to climb two steps to get up, then remember to step down at 3 a.m. if you need the bathroom. There was an old smell when we came in, probably from the small loveseat, which looked old and had dirt under the cushions. The hard floors didn't feel fully clean either, you could feel dirt on your feet without socks. We stayed for my son's soccer tournament after booking late and finding other places full or not ideal. If I'm in a pinch, I'd try it again.
