Fairfield Inn & Suites Terre Haute

We were on the ground floor and could hear a loud family above us, so we barely got any rest. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and the waffles tasted sour. Why? Probably gone bad.

Really clean, and the guy at the front desk was great. Like the other Fairfield’s, though, this one could use a renovation.

I had to wait to check in because nobody was at the front desk, and when I left, no one came to check me out. I left my key there and just hoped nobody would come in after me and trash the room. The room was mostly clean, but some areas had clearly been missed, and the tub was too dirty for me to use for a bath. Breakfast was a letdown too. We'd stayed at another hotel in the chain, fairfield in Loveland CO, and its breakfast was amazing, so we came here expecting something similar. All the things that made that hotel good were missing here.

We were promised a handicap accessible room or at least a shower chair, but neither was available. I found hair in the sink the first time I used the bathroom. They moved us, then the key card wouldn't open the new room. The phone wasn't connected either, so we had to find its cord elsewhere in the room and hook it up ourselves to call the front desk. I was charged another $21, which they said was an amenities fee everyone pays. Nobody had told us about it at check-in, verbally or in writing. They said they'd credit it at checkout, but I'm not counting on that. The GM said a shower chair would be brought up at 7pm. At 9:51pm, it still hadn't arrived. I need to shower somehow, but I'm not risking a fall because of the staff. This Marriot feels more like a Motel 6. I wouldn't stay here. It's late and I have to continue my trip in the morning, so I don't have a choice now.
