SpringHill Suites by Marriott Terre Haute

I've stayed here several times for business. It's a clean, nice hotel and the workers are very friendly. But after what I heard yesterday, I won't stay again. While I was in the breakfast area, there was screaming and yelling at the front desk between someone I assume was the general manager and an employee. The manager treated that employee horribly, and did it in front of everyone. I felt embarrassed for the man. I can't bring myself to patronize a Marriott that thinks treating its staff like that is acceptable. Get it together. This is a Marriott, not a pay-by-the-hour roach motel.

In our room in Terra Haute, IN, the bathroom had no lights, there was black mold in the shower, and the towel rack was coming off the wall. At the desk, we were told nobody could come install a new light, and they wouldn't move us to another room. She said they were full, even though an online search showed rooms available. The room quality and customer service were both poor.

On a business trip, I left my wallet in my room. It was returned after I called to ask whether it had been found, but $100 in cash was gone. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if they have crooks working there. The woman at the front desk seemed suspicious and said she'd talk to her manager and housekeeping. I'm pretty sure that won't happen. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.

We shouldn't have prepaid for this room. It wasn't clean and needed upgrades, the shower didn't work properly, and the TV had very limited cable. Breakfast was a joke too.
