Motel 6 Tewksbury, MA - Boston

There were cockroaches on the bed and two more in the bathroom. The room also had two lights that didn’t work, a broken table shelf, and cigarette burns on and in the tub. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. I went to the desk, but the man refused to move me and told me to come back in the morning to speak to the manager. When I returned, a woman said the manager wasn’t available, wouldn’t give me her name, and took my number, saying she’d ask the manager to call. By checkout the manager was available, but refused any credit or refund. She said they’d inspect the room for roaches and decide about a refund based on what they found. The employees were unpleasant, rude, and unhelpful. I contacted Motel 6 customer care, but they could only document and escalate the complaint. They weren’t sure anyone would call me back and said I’d have to contact the property directly for a refund, even though I’d already done that and got nowhere.

Oscar is a helpful, understanding gentleman who communicates well and stays professional. He has a great attitude and is friendly and pleasant with guests. I’d recommend this motel to friends and would come back again and again without worries. It’s a great place to stay.

The front desk person was very nice, but the owner needs to invest in the property and set some standards, even for a Motel 6. My sheets had cigarette holes, and the tub had cigarette burns too. The room had very little in it, and you could see the mattress springs, not just feel them. These days a budget hotel can at least provide a comfortable mattress topper. Everyone staying here deserves better, whether paying for themselves like I was or apparently staying long term on government payment.

The room was basic and just okay, with no hairdryer or shampoo. It was noisy, and there were flies and ants. I found a cockroach when I got up to use the bathroom overnight, so I left as soon as I could. I’ll never stay here again.
