The pool was decent, and the ice machine worked well. The room also had a full-size fridge, stove, and microwave, which was handy. The location is good, the room was decent, and the bed was okay, but the pillows were terrible. Hot water was plentiful, though the pressure was weak. The sign says kitchenware is provided, but it wasn't. I had to keep asking just to get a few plates, and service wasn't great. It felt like what you'd expect from a Motel 6. I paid a lot because it was late Saturday and most Galveston area hotels were full. For $50-60, it wouldn't be too bad, but at $100 it felt like a rip-off. It's basically a place to shower and sleep, without any frills.

The room felt unsafe as well as unclean. The door frame was badly warped, as though someone had kicked the door in. The toilet was broken and wouldn't flush, and the A/C leaked onto the floor, leaving it slick and musty smelling. The floor was so scratched up it looked like it had been marked with permanent ink, so we made sure not to go barefoot. The mattress cover had several brown stains and cigarette burns, and looked as if it hadn't been changed or cleaned in years. The shower curtain had similar stains. On arrival it was obvious the room hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained. I've stayed in budget motels before, but never in conditions this bad. This room shouldn't have been rented out. These are basic safety and cleanliness issues, and the property failed on both. I hope management takes a look at its standards. No guest should have to stay in a room like this.

For $70, I'd call it minimally acceptable. The room itself was clean, including the bed, and the sheets smelled fresh. I counted at least three roaches, which I suppose can happen in the humid South. The front desk staff could seem a bit happier about the place. Going in, you have to remember it's a Motel 6 and you're paying a discounted rate for lodging.

The office smelled so awful when we checked out that we could barely breathe, and it had smelled just as bad when we arrived. The man at the front desk was smoking something. There were tarps on the roof, so we figured they might be doing construction and tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt. Our room looked somewhat like the website, but the blankets had holes and the TV didn't work right. We asked for no room service, yet the cleaner came by. She replaced the rags but left the dirty ones. We put a clothing tag on the blanket so we'd know if anyone entered, and the bed was made afterward with the tag still there. The neighborhood felt sketchy, and we passed several nicer options farther down the road. If you're looking at this on Expedia, it doesn't look like the online photos. Cheap as it may be, it isn't worth it. If you're going to Galveston with your family, just stay in Galveston. Sometimes paying more is worth it. Experience: 0/10.

It's quiet and pet friendly, with a pool, kitchenette, and full-size fridge if you want to cook. Palmer highway is right there, so shopping doesn't take much travel, and Galveston is about 20 minutes away. It's an extended-stay motel, but you can book for a night or two. We paid $85 a night, with weekends about $60 more. The day-shift man at the front desk is very nice. The women were rude and had attitudes, especially the housekeeper, who doesn't even come by daily. Still, I'd recommend the place.
