The bed was comfortable and the room clean, and the staff were really nice. Still, the place felt just so-so and badly in need of some care. It’s called a B and B, but there was no breakfast. They gave us a breakfast discount, and the coffee was delicious. We were told the owners were in transition. For what we paid, I think we’d have been better off at a hotel that included breakfast. I bet this place was gorgeous back in its day.

We’d happily come back for another weekend away at the Pine Crest Inn. After spending the day at nearby wineries, my wife and I arrived to excellent service and were taken straight to our clean, cozy room with a fireplace. The power went out early the next morning, but the friendly staff still managed to cook breakfast since the kitchen uses gas. It was top notch, and Mary was so kind to us.

We were the only guests that night, and the place had a neglected, almost abandoned look. I remember staying here regularly in the 80s and 90s, but sadly it hasn’t been cared for since then. The property is overgrown and outdated. The innkeeper we saw the morning after check-in was lovely, though she isn’t the owner and just works there. With the place in this condition, the extremely high price tag doesn’t feel worth it.

We spent hours playing chess in the beautiful, cozy common lounge, with a glass of port and brownies. The scenic area and our gorgeous, warm room made the stay feel like home. It was our first bed and breakfast, and it’s set a high standard. The staff were very accommodating when we arrived late at night. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

We stayed a couple of nights, which meant two delicious breakfasts in the dining area, and loved eating by the fireplace. Mary was a wonderful server and looked after everything we needed, while Linda was warm and welcoming. Jennifer greeted us, helped us get settled, and even warmed up the leftovers we’d brought for dinner and helped take them to our room. Everyone was so friendly, and the staff shared great ideas for spending time in Tryon. Our room was clean and comfortable, just right for slowing down and enjoying a little time away. We loved staying at Pine Crest and would encourage others to visit.
