The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I’d recommend giving this place a try and would stay again. One small thing: housekeeping should clean between the headboard and mattress, where I found a lot of dust. I stayed for a weekend visit to World Springs. The Hyatt is well located, with restaurants and bars within walking distance.

I found a roach in the middle of the room the first morning, and the vanity was dirty everywhere except the top counter. There was dust, dirt, and hair on the sill of the big window. The carpet felt dirty enough that I wore shoes the whole time, and the wallpaper was peeling in several places. The bathroom mirror's LED light didn’t work, and the sleeper sofa arms were stained or discolored. I was here for a week for work and wasn’t impressed. There’s no microwave in the room, just one for everyone on the second and fourth floors. I’m not going down a floor to heat up food. Breakfast and coffee don’t start until 6:30, which seems late for a hotel with business guests. There are no restaurants, only overpriced candy and snacks by the 24-hour Starbucks, which the check-in staff prepare. I doubt they’re trained properly for that. It could be a beautiful hotel, but it seems poorly managed. I won’t stay here again. Beware.

At 11:15, while I was lying across the bed waiting for my husband to come out of the bathroom so I could get dressed, someone opened our door. Thankfully, the security bar stopped it. I looked through the peephole as soon as the door shut, but nobody was there. If it was housekeeping, I feel they should have waited, apologized, or been at the next room. We were near the middle of the hall, and I think we would have seen someone walking away after an innocent mistake. I’m not sure what was happening, but whoever it was had a key. Leaving without apologizing felt extremely unprofessional. Along with the TV, which started showing “connection is lost” at 11, it made me feel they were rushing us to check out. We left, and this was our last trip here. We’ve stayed at this Hyatt several times in recent years for little getaways from the kids, and we like the location near Grandscape. It shares a lot with 54 Street, which is handy because we enjoy their late happy hour. This visit went differently. I checked in online and paid online, then requested a mobile key, since skipping the desk line is supposed to be a member benefit. The key never came, so I had to check in at the desk and was asked to pay again. The employee said online payment didn’t count and had to be made on site. We’d stayed here four or five times the previous year without that happening, so it didn’t make sense, though we paid. The elevator was dirty, there were carpet stains in the hall, and we heard a loud gathering in one room. Our room had a huge carpet stain, but the rest seemed clean, so we stayed. Checkout was at noon, and we planned to sleep in and leave around then.

The room was right by the busy back street, so every honk and loud car came through. I’d asked for a higher floor, but they put me on the first. They said no other rooms had been cleaned because of Valentine’s Day, even though it was past 3 p.m. and I’d said I would arrive at 1. I didn’t want to wait a couple of hours for another room, so I stayed on the first floor. I also never received the digital key I requested through the Hyatt app. The location is convenient for quick shopping or a bite, and the lobby layout was okay. Unlike Hilton, they don’t offer complimentary water. I’d planned to have the free breakfast, but after finding a roach in the shower that night, I politely passed. I usually stay at Hilton, but tried Hyatt because it was a little cheaper. I’ll be sticking with Hilton.
