Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Plano/The Colony

The location was ideal, and breakfast was great. The staff treated me like family, not just a customer, so I’d definitely stay again. Mr.Charles at the front desk was a gem and made sure our family had the best stay. When we found the TV remote wasn’t working, Ms. Shirley quickly sorted it out by moving us to another room.

The staff were exceptional, friendly, and welcoming. My room was dated and had a slight smell. We were told it was the only available single room with a king bed over Thanksgiving, so we went to the nearest Walmart and bought some Fabreez. I didn’t raise the issue with the staff, but wanted to mention it so they’d know.

I won’t stay here again. The room was spacious, but the walls were so thin I could hear the people next door talking until 2 a.m. They weren’t shouting, so I blame the building rather than them. The shower pressure was poor, and the curtain is mounted too high, which let water spray all over the tile floor. My toilet handle was nearly broken off, and there was a pair of dirty socks under the desk in plain sight. They weren’t mine, and they made me question how well the rooms are cleaned. At $90 a night I’d be less critical, but this place costs more.

We brought a group of more than 20 employees and their families to Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas Plano/The Colony for our company Christmas party at a nearby venue. The facilities, breakfast, and accommodations were great, and there’s plenty to do close by. The staff were great and very accommodating to such a large group.
