Mendo Bungalow

We spent two nights here and had a lovely time. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking the ocean, just minutes from town, with peaceful grounds and lush trees. We enjoyed coffee and books on the patio looking out over the water. Inside, our room was clean and tastefully decorated, the bed was comfortable, and the huge soaking tub was a highlight for me. The front desk lady and cleaning staff were welcoming and pleasant. We'll definitely return.

We came for two nights during a California road trip and would gladly stay again. The grounds were lovely and quiet, and our room was really nice with a jacuzzi. It's a short drive from Mendocino and close to Luna Trattoria, one of the best Italian restaurants we've eaten at. A couple of things to know: there's no safe, and the door doesn't have a chain, which may bother some guests.

Getting checked in and out was very easy, and everything was ready for us. The recently remodeled, clean rooms and well-kept grounds around the cabins made for a nice stay. You're about two minutes from town, so it's handy for exploring while away from the crowds. The view from the property is pleasant but partly obstructed, and it's not on the waterfront, so set expectations accordingly. Our main inconvenience was the bathroom: during a cold night, a hot shower left it humid and water all over the floor. We had to leave the lights on to run the fan. The price is a little high, but similar to places of comparable quality nearby. We'd come back.

We only stayed one night while heading down the coast. The location was great, beside a small town area with bars and restaurants, and the front desk lady was very nice. But when we arrived right at 4 pm, the cleaning service was still in our room, which was frustrating. The room was much bigger than expected and nicely updated, though there were ants in the shower, on the counter, and on the side tables. They need to put out traps.
