The outside doors were left unlocked, so anyone could walk in. Our room was dirty and unattractive, and the bathroom and shower were awful, with no hot water or pressure. The so-called breakfast was cold and gross. Save your money.

Give it a chance. The prices are lower under the new management, the rooms are clean, and breakfast was nice. Friendly people too.

The king room was a little small, but it was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly. There was breakfast too.

Breakfast was the first big letdown. We went down at 8:30 and the dining room was empty, with no cereal, waffles, or juice for the kids, just coffee. The serving platters had bugs in them. A sign said coffee was available for a few hours in the morning, though I may have the exact times wrong. There was nobody at the desk, and my call went unanswered. We'd booked two nights with two queen beds for me and my grandson. The room looked inviting at first, and the bed was hard but usable. It was cold that night and the heat didn't work. The next day was supposed to be hot, but the AC only blew air, like a fan. There were other problems: the room coffee maker had no pot or cups, the toilet bowl was brown, and there was only one towel. I also found two pills on the floor, one red or pink and one white, though I may have the colors wrong. I took pictures. On our first morning, I asked a maid in the hall if I could borrow her toilet brush to clean the toilet. When I gave her our room number, she paused and said she didn't know they'd reopened that room for rent. That was unsettling. My grandson had already said the motel reminded him of The Shining, carpeting and all, and wanted a reenactment photo. At checkout nobody was at the desk again. Someone answered the phone but said she was too busy to come out. I told her everything and asked to speak with a manager. She said someone would call, but it's been over a week. I said I'd leave a review, and here I am. I don't know how this place stays in business.

I stayed here a lot for work over the winter, and booked my usual $50 rate before leaving. When I came back, they were charging $75 a night. The weekly price could be a lot lower than Microtel, though it's okay, and room service only comes every couple of days. The lot usually has just two or three cars and isn't busy. At that price I'd rather stay at Candlewood, so I probably won't be back.
