Comfort Inn Columbia Gorge

My husband travels a lot for work, and he was very happy with our night here. The hotel is a great value, with a lot of care put into guests' experience. Our room was clean and quiet, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was tasty and offered plenty of options. We'll stay here again.

Little bed bugs were crawling on the pillows when we entered our room. It was hard to photograph them because the room was dim and they were so small, but beware of this hotel. We are still waiting for the manager to cancel our stay. The front desk couldn't help without the manager's approval. Another guest reported bed bug bites four weeks ago, and it doesn't seem the hotel has done anything to address the problem. I wish I could upload a video so you could clearly see them crawling on the beds.

The rooms have been remodeled, but the amenities don't justify how expensive the nightly rate is. The hot tub was so dirty we couldn't see through the water, and we weren't going to get in. I'm a certified pool operator, and my advice is not to swim in either the pool or hot tub because it could put you at risk of serious health problems.

The rooms were ordinary, clean, and comfortable, but the shampoo and conditioner in the shower smelled awful. The pool needs to be shut down and resurfaced before someone cuts a foot on the peeling plaster. The pool deck and hot tub seating area were uncomfortable under bare feet. We waited more than 10 minutes for anyone to come to the front desk, and when a woman finally arrived, she was very unfriendly. She'd left her purse on the counter where anyone could have taken it while she was gone.
