Letitia and Greg made check-in and checkout friendly and professional, and the housekeepers were fantastic. We slept well on the quality mattresses, and the room had a spacious shower, a lovely lobby, and comfortable, well-equipped furnishings. The built-in seat and table between the beds were a great touch. There's also a tiny fridge for a few single-size drinks, a small microwave, and a little coffee maker. This is a convenient place to break up a long drive or use as a base. Historic downtown architecture, murals, and interesting shops are just steps away. The freeway is easy to reach, but the hotel sits far enough back that we could barely hear freeway or train traffic. We were delighted by the view of the Columbia River and the rolling hills beyond.

We passed up Hood River to stay overnight and explore the next day, and were really happy with our choice. Rockin' Randy was kind and helpful, and made us feel at home. We enjoyed the records, fire, games, and coffee at the hotel. The dinner cafe wasn't open yet, so we walked to Enzas', which was amazing too. It's a great spot for local shops. The Dalles has a surprising range of fun shops and activities for all ages, and felt like a vacation destination of its own. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We were only passing through with our two toddlers and service dog, and stayed one night in a new, clean room. I liked the modern, minimalist look. The beds and pillows, bathroom, and room amenities were all immaculate. Definitely worth the stay for a night.

“Rockin'” Randy made check-in easy and fun, and made sure we had everything for a comfortable stay. We even found out he'd grown up in our Portland neighborhood! The Rayland hotel is right downtown in The Dalles. The price was reasonable, the bed was comfortable, and the room had a microwave and mini fridge. We didn't notice any loud noises. They're renovating now, with work estimated to finish in spring 2026. It's already nice, and we'd come back after the cafe and bar are added.

We had a bad experience at another motel after staying there one night, so we switched to the Rayland. They let us check in early, the room was fresh and clean, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. When we're back in The Dalles, we'll stay here again. Definitely the best in town.
