Travelodge By Wyndham The Dalles

The family who seems to run the place was really sweet, and we could walk to a few pubs because of the location. I was surprised by how bad the comments were. This was the only hotel available when we came for the weekend, so we booked it. The building is old, but our room was clean and pretty spacious. I've seen much worse on my trip in Oregon! It was a very hot day, and they'd turned on the AC and closed all the curtains before we checked in, which felt thoughtful. I'd stay again.

The bathroom was clean, the water pressure was good, and the beds were comfy. We booked one queen and one twin but got two queens instead. There was AC, and the motel is run by a really sweet family who were kind when we arrived fairly late. It's not a five-star hotel, but if that's what you expected, that's on you.

We paid $180 and ended up packing up our four kids and dog at 1:47 in the morning to sleep in our van. The shower was gross, its door wouldn't close, and the toilet leaked. The A/c was broken, the heater was broken too, and the outlets were burning. The fire alarm didn't work. There were cockroaches, and when we told the staff, they were rude. There was mold in the windows and moldy food in the room, plus stains on the walls, blankets, sheets, mattresses, lamps, and windows. The blankets and sheets also had burn holes. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Motel 6 is $98, and their hotels are clean with amazing service. I will not recommend Travelodge. It was 1000000000000% disgusting. If I could, I'd give it a negative 10000000000000000.

The staff were friendly, but the facility is extremely old and the amenities are very basic. From outside, it looks like the kind of place that rents rooms by the hour. It was the only place available, otherwise we would've gone elsewhere. Not worth the price.
