SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western The Villages

My wife and I stay here often, and the service has always been excellent. The rooms are exceptional for the price, and everyone, from housekeeping to maintenance, makes sure we’re comfortable and treats us with respect. Special thanks to front desk manager Lakesha, who goes out of her way to make our stays wonderful. Lacy deserves a shout-out too, and in my opinion a raise, for going out of her way for me. If you’re in town, I highly recommend this hotel.

I barely had the energy to complain by the end, so I slept in one spot after wiping the room with Lysol wipes that turned orange. The manager saw them, said someone would be written up, and left. Earlier, I had to ask for a vacuum because the floor had more crumbs than a birthday party. The manager brought one and left me to do it myself. The tub was full of hair, like they’d been washing dogs, and there were stains under the bed sheets. When I called the manager back, she brought sheets and left, so I had to make the bed myself. The hardwood and carpet were both sticky. I can’t make this up. Humble yourself if you go here.

The two desk workers deserve a lot of credit for their compassion and quick thinking. At 5am I took my dogs out and got locked out of my room because the outside locking mechanism had frozen in the Florida cold. The desk man tried several things and called people, including a manager named Latisha or something similar. She told him I’d have to wait until it warmed up, even though the high was only supposed to be 20. The next desk person came in early and also tried several ways to get in without success. Then she thought to hold a bottle of hot water against the lock until it warmed and opened. The manager should be fired.

The rooms didn’t smell fresh, and I’ve spent two days trying to call to make sure they won’t keep my deposit, but nobody answers. We booked a room for relatives and came back after 9pm to find the TV wasn’t working. The man at the desk tried to help and switched rooms. The replacement TV worked for five minutes, then quit too.
