The customer service is the only reason I'd consider giving this five stars. The hotel feels dated, and the room had plenty of problems: a gross sink, a tub stopper that wouldn't stay up so the shower kept filling, and no shampoo or conditioner bottles in the shower, just the large wall-mounted ones. The toilet paper holder was rusty and dirty, and the yellowish room lighting looked awful. The pool and hot tub were nice, but both were very low and needed filling. I hope the bedding, carpet, and other parts of the room are cleaner than the areas I noticed. My feet were sore. Without the good service, I doubt I'd return.

After the long drive, we were greeted by a very friendly, accommodating woman at the desk. I think her name was Colleen. She noticed our luggage and offered us a ground-floor room so we wouldn't have to carry everything upstairs. That welcome made the arrival worthwhile.

We were there over Christmas week and found it comfortable and nice. The staff were all polite and friendly, and breakfast was good. They even let me use the fitness room very early in the morning. We'd happily stay there again.

Breakfast was a highlight, with lots to choose from and a staff member making waffles for us. We also loved the pool and big hot tub, especially since the pool opens at 7am. The rooms were cozy and clean, the shower pressure was good, and the whole place felt quiet and neatly organized. Staff were friendly and polite. There are several dining choices nearby, plus Walmart across the street. We had a great time and nothing bad to say.

This was our second AmericInn, after enjoying the Wadena location in 2024 while traveling with our dog. This one had a similar building, a pool about the same size, and a roomy lobby with comfortable leather chairs and great coffee. The staff were warm and friendly. We look forward to staying again next time we're in town.
