I booked a room through Wyndham's app for my daughter, who was traveling across the country alone. The hotel wouldn't let her check in under my reservation, saying the rate was too low. The front desk worker, who barely spoke English, and the manager were both extremely rude to her, and wouldn't talk to me on the phone. I canceled and got her a room at the nearby Days Inn, where they were happy to accommodate her.

Everything was new, the beds were comfortable, and the price was good. Breakfast was included, with sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, coffee, juice, fruit, pastries and more. Friendly staff and an easy check-in and checkout. I didn't notice any mold or smells like some other reviewers mentioned. I'd stay again.

The location was great, and the beds were comfortable enough. But for a full hot breakfast there was no protein at all, not even peanut butter. Waffles and cereal aren't a great start to the second half of a 1,400 mile drive. I'd sincerely appreciate some protein, even hard-boiled eggs.

The stay was restful, with spotless rooms and service that went above and beyond. Super 8 by Wyndham Ankeny/Des Moines Area has a good location and friendly staff. It didn't disappoint, and I'll recommend it to everyone I know.

Super 8. Ankeny/Des Moines ought to be the standard for the whole Wyndham lineup. Friday's rate was reasonable, and the woman at the front desk was genuinely friendly. The lot was clean, the exterior well cared for, and truck and trailer parking around back had clear markings and room to maneuver. Inside, the room was exceptionally clean, the carpet looked new, and the bed was comfortable. Even the sheets and pillows smelled really nice. Nice extra: Samsung Smart TV and 10% off for guests at Guadalajara Mexican restaurant next door.
