Best Western Inn Of Thief River Falls

I usually have good luck with Best Western's, but this was the worst hotel I've stayed in. I was on the ground floor. They were renovating a side entrance during my visit, but that's not what this review is about. The building felt worn down, and many details made it seem like the owners spent as little as possible to keep it running. The bathroom was especially bad. The faucet looked like a very cheap Moen knockoff, the water pressure was nearly nonexistent, and the vanity was too small for my travel case. At 6' 4", I had about 2" between my head and the shower ceiling. In the main room, wallpaper peeled from the walls. The heater/AC seemed to have only two settings, tundra or hell. I had to turn it off during the day, or come back to a sauna. The king mattress sagged badly on one side, and the other side still sloped into a valley. The hot tub was a dated, stained blue plastic insert, small enough for four people comfortably. Staff at the desk seemed less than interested in my comfort, and the warm breakfast wasn't a highlight either. I tried toast, then found a hair between the two halves. With the hotel's overall condition, I wonder why they bother renovating the entrances. They weren't working on rooms while I was there. They should raise the first-floor ceiling about 2 feet. Next time I'm nearby with no other options, I'll sleep in my car. None of this is embellished. Stay away.

It's now called Inn of Thief River and has been remodeled. The rooms looked modern, nice, and clean, and the continental breakfast was great with room for lots of people.

This bar is so much fun when they have a dj. Love it.
