Quality Inn & Suites Thomasville-High Point

The location is good, the breakfast is alright, and the housekeeping staff are wonderful. The rooms seem to have a 50-50 chance of working microwaves, hairdryers, or outlets. My experience with management was awful. Over the two months I stayed there, I was repeatedly charged pet fees even though I have multiple disabilities and a service dog in training. The manager said he’d waive the fees if I provided disability and service animal paperwork. In good faith, I paid over $100 for the animal documentation and another $100 or more out of pocket for a psychological evaluation to get an up-to-date diagnosis. After I brought the paperwork he requested, he tried to charge me again, then banned me and offered no way to stay without the dog. He made claims about damage to justify it, saying one towel had pet hair and was thrown out and that staff had to scrub and mop up hair. The staff member he said had to do that told me she never said it. I had taken video of the room before leaving and told him it contradicted his claims, but he wouldn’t look at it or the laws I brought up. He said Choice Hotels higher-ups had more say than the law and blamed the company for how I was treated. He even threatened to call law enforcement and have me charged with trespassing if I didn’t leave or pay the fees. That was only the last few days of my stay. I’m living out of hotels, and after all the fees I’ve paid, I may soon be sleeping outside or in my car. I truly hope I don’t succumb to the elements. The manager goes by “D” and has no name tag. Staff say his name is “Sam,” though they aren’t sure. He also falsely accused me to try to discredit me. The room’s location is good, but appliances and outlets are unreliable.
