Palm City Motel

My daughter, her boyfriend, and I ended up sleeping in our cars in the parking lot. There were bed bugs and other bugs in the bed and all over the place, and it made our skin crawl. We also found mold in the shower. The owner was very nice, but that doesn't excuse the condition. Absolutely disgusting.

The shower never had hot water, though I didn't contact management about getting it fixed, and I'm sure they would have helped. I stayed three days and nights in room 119 at the Palm City Motel. The room was clean and comfortable, and felt like good value for the price. I'd stay here again.

We saw roaches in the sink as soon as we walked in, so we turned around and left. She's an Army vet, and either way, we weren't staying in a motel with bugs. At the little front window, we asked for our money back and said we had a photo, but he didn't believe us. He offered another room; we only wanted a refund. I nearly called the cops, but didn't. He shut and locked the window and door, then got on the phone. We waited about 15 minutes for the refund, which came around five minutes after that. He clearly didn't want to give it back, but he did. As we were driving off, we saw him run to check the room. I'm glad we left. There was hardly anyone there, and I don't know how the place is still open. They shouldn't treat guests badly or call them liars. They should be shut down.

We were too tired to move on after the long drive, so we stayed. The place was dark and filthy, and we saw roaches. The stove was greasy and didn't work, though I wouldn't have used it anyway; the cabinets were greasy too. We kept our luggage closed because we were afraid of bugs. The shower had no drain cover and about three inches of standing water, so we didn't use it. Don't go.
