Motel 6 Tigard West

This is the cleanest, most stress-free Motel 6 I've stayed in, and I've been to countless locations. Judith, the housekeeper, was attentive, polite, and delightful every time we dealt with her. Even when we kept asking for towels, soap, or directions to a nearby restaurant and felt like we were bothering her, she was pleasant and helpful. We'll stay here whenever we're in town. Thank you, Judith!

I stayed across the road several times without any trouble, but one weekend here someone went through my car and stole things. It really proves you can't judge a book by its cover. Now I understand why the front desk treated my husband like he'd done something wrong when he needed a replacement room key after his stopped working. I guess they deal with a lot of petty crime.

I expect front desk staff to know how to deal with tired, confused travelers. People make mistakes, and some get confused more easily than others. I had booked the Motel 6 across the way and accidentally came to this location. The man dressed as a woman could simply have told me that, yes, I'd gone to the wrong place. Instead, this person had the catty attitude associated with women down, but could have shown the softer side women have. They said, "Nothing you just said made sense," talked over me, changed the subject, and wouldn't address that Travelocity advertises free early check-in. I didn't care about making a stupid mistake or paying the $10 fee. I just wanted respect from someone who actually wants to do hospitality work. If you're too impatient or too smart for it, don't seek it out. That person could have made my day a lot better by not being rude, catty, and impatient. How do employees who treat guests that way keep their jobs? I'm a doctoral student studying leadership, professionalism, and how businesses are run, so I'm genuinely curious whether anyone there has an answer.

I stay here at least once a month and have done so for the past year. The rooms are always available and very clean, and it's usually pretty quiet. I've had no problems. The freeway is easy to reach, and the mall is nearby for picking up what you need. The staff are very nice and provide good service.
