Quality Inn Lexington

The breakfast they advertised as healthy and hot, with photos showing a decent selection, was one of the main reasons I booked. The playground was the other, since I was traveling with my three-year-old. When we arrived, the playground was closed off with caution tape. My daughter was extremely disappointed and couldn't understand why she couldn't use the swings or slide. The next morning, breakfast was just the waffle maker, a container of white bread, Raisin Bran, Fruit Loops, and yogurt cups. I'm not exaggerating. I'm a Choice Privileges member and used to work the front desk at a Choice property, and this was a huge disappointment on my birthday trip.

Breakfast was okay, though they didn't have any fruit. The room came with two queen beds, a padded chair, a desk chair, and a place to write. The shower was over a tub with a non-slip surface. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and lotion in squeeze bottles, plus bars of soap.

A really nice place to get some rest. The area felt safe, the room was very clean, and everything worked. Breakfast and coffee were good too. The person at the front desk was friendly and accommodating, and our whole experience was positive.

The bathroom door lock jammed and trapped us inside, so we had to remove the lock to get out. There were stink bugs, the rooms were small, and the continental breakfast was all cheap carbs without much substance. Those were some of the problems we ran into. For what they charge, this hotel falls way short on value. The rates are about the same as Holiday Inn or Hilton properties I've stayed at, but the facilities and amenities are seriously lacking. In my view, it shouldn't cost more than $100 a night.
