Wingate by Wyndham Tinley Park

The morning breakfast was a really nice touch, and the workers were friendly and helpful. The hotel felt fresh and clean, and I loved the little water detail in the lobby. Wingate keeps moving up my list of hotels to look for when I need a place to stay.

We booked about eight rooms for our group, and the staff were flexible and worked to make things work for everyone, even though I know we can be a pain. They treated me like a special guest, although I’m not even a Wyndham rewards member. Thanks to the team for accommodating us so well. There are several hotels in the same business park, but this one stood out. The lobby was kinda cool, the breakfast area was spacious and contemporary, and the rooms were clean and well appointed. They went all out with the Christmas decorations, which says a lot about the staff’s ability to plan and manage. I left too early for weekend breakfast, but I think it would have been decent.

The room turned out to be clean, and we got a rollaway bed that made the stay a bit more pleasant. Breakfast was always ready, and I liked that cameras in the halls made me feel safer. Check-in staff were great, and the TV was a good size. The curtain had come partly off the wall, and the outside light bothered my sleep. I thought there was a tub. I also wish the hot tub water had been a little hotter, and that the pool area had blinds or curtains. The bus runs along there, and people standing outside have a straight eyeshot into the pool area.

The front desk people were exceptionally nice, and I’ll stay here again when I’m in the Tinley/Orland area. It’s close to the Tinley Park Convention Center, with at least three restaurants you can walk to: Cracker Barrel, North & Maple, and a Japanese Restaurant whose name I can’t remember. This hotel is one of the best in the group right off the Harlem Ave Exit on Rt 80. The lobby, pool, breakfast area, fitness center, and business center are modern, bright, clean, and fully functional. The coffee is hot and good all day. Rooms are clean and neat, and comfortable, though a little less modern than the shared facilities.
