I stay at Black gold suites often and it never lets me down. The rooms are a great size, smell amazing, are immaculate, and have all the practical things you need. It’s more than somewhere to sleep for a night or two, it feels like a luxury experience you have to try for yourself.

The breakfast gets old fast. The same potatoes show up every day, the scrambled eggs are runny, and the boiled eggs seem overcooked and old. There’s little variety or nutritional balance, with too much reliance on cheap carbs. There’s also no fitness center, which is a letdown for a long stay. The lower-level restroom by the entrance is regularly out of soap and paper towels, and its broken dispenser still hasn’t been fixed. I’m staying at Black Gold Hotel for work, and it’s been a disappointing experience. The staff are usually unfriendly or inattentive, and tracking someone down for help can take a frustrating amount of time. Some night staff have been rude and unprofessional, and seem unsure how to use their own point-of-sale system. Rooms are serviced just once every seven days, which feels minimal for an extended-stay hotel, especially with only a small trash can in a room with a kitchenette. My room is dingy and smells unpleasant. The bathroom wallpaper is peeling, and the condition of the place points to poor upkeep. The laundry facility has been broken for a while with no visible effort to fix it. Cleanliness in the hallways and shared areas also leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel feels neglected and poorly managed. I only chose it because most other places nearby were fully booked, and I’ll be glad to move on. With better maintenance, cleanliness, management, and staff training, it could improve a lot. As it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The complimentary breakfast could be better, though I usually make meals in our room. The kitchenette has been handy for home-cooked food, and the location makes daily life easy, with local stores and places to eat close by. My husband works on the oilfield, and our family of four has spent a whole month at Black Gold Suites in Tioga, North Dakota. We’ve been very happy here. The suite is roomy and laid out well, so living here with kids hasn’t felt cramped. Our rooms have been clean, quiet, and well equipped, and housekeeping has been consistently excellent. The property feels safe and peaceful, which has been great for our family. From the day we arrived, everything has felt comfortable and thoughtfully maintained. The staff have all been friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful with whatever we’ve needed. That kind of care matters when you’re away from home for a long time. Black Gold Suites has felt like home to us. We’d gladly stay again and recommend it to families, professionals, or anyone looking for a short or long stay in Tioga.

You can count on this place. The lobby and rooms were clean, it’s up to date, and the customer service was great. Best hotel experience I’ve had in a long time, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
