A cute, clean place with a comfortable bed, but the amenities are limited. There’s no ice machine, just a tiny tray in the fridge that barely covers a water bottle, and nowhere to refill a bottle. There’s no air conditioning, though the windows open and the night air was comfortable. Staff are only on site from 8 to 5.

After a day on the slopes, the jacuzzi is a treat. Try stepping into the freezing mountain air before getting in, five rough seconds and then twenty lovely minutes. Holiday Haus is clean, easy to reach, and the staff make you feel welcome. It’s also a good value and a comfortable Mammoth base. Reception closes around 5pm, though, and there are no USB outlets in the rooms. You can borrow plugs and chargers at reception.

The bathroom heat was incredible, and the room came with more than I expected: plates, bowls, glassware, free tea, condiments, and even hot cocoa. We stayed in rooms 15 and 307. Everything was clean, the people were so sweet, and I’d stay again a million times.

We really liked the location. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, and the woman at check-in was very friendly. We were there just one night and have nothing negative to say.

Mammoth Lakes was lovely, and the hotel’s location near the lakes and Yosemite was the best part. For our one-night stay, the furniture felt quite old, one bed wasn’t very comfortable, and the towels and old carpet could have been cleaner.
