Motel 6 Toms River, NJ - Near Seaside Heights

The rooms were disgusting and the stairs were falling apart. One employee, a Caucasian man, spent time smoking in the hallway even though I was on a nonsmoking floor. He was loud, obnoxious, and disrespectful. He yelled at my niece and nephew, who are 4-6 years old. When I told him to relax, he cursed me out in front of the kids. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. He should be fired.

I checked out today, and the hot water barely worked, so I couldn't really shower. There were cigarette holes in the blankets, a strange smell in the rooms, and no microwave in ours. The ceiling looked like it was about to collapse, and the place badly needs renovating. I can't understand how anyone can stay with so little hot water. I'll never come back and would spend my money somewhere else. This place is just horrible.

I felt really uneasy and won't stay here again. The sheets on the bed were soiled, the room was tiny, and the whole place was filthy. After check-in, before I had even entered my room, the man at the counter went in and fiddled with the TV remote. He told me he was just checking the door. I went out to get things from the car, and when I came back he was in a corner of my room, zipping his coat. He said he'd forgotten to mention that it was a nonsmoking room. I said that was fine, but he only finally left once my fiance came in. The nonrefundable policy feels unfair. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone or encourage anyone to waste their money staying there.

The room smelled awful and looked nothing like the pictures. The bathroom door was broken, and the blanket looked unclean. There were stains on the pillow too. One star.
