Courtyard Topeka

For 10k points, I suppose it was a fair deal, and I can see why the points rate was so low. But this didn't feel up to the usual Courtyard standards. The neighboring mall is closed for renovations, and the hotel lounge had several people who seemed to be employees watching TV together. It felt like a zombie hotel beside a zombie mall. The lobby had no fruit infused ice water, and some of the first floor tile was sticky. The fitness room's water cooler was empty. When I pointed it out, the front desk employee cheerfully said "yep" but didn't do anything. At 6 PM Sunday, the bistro was dark and closed, with stools up on the high tables, even though the Marriot app said it should be open.

Really good stay. The room was spacious and clean, and the front desk staff were super nice and helpful the whole time. I do wish they had some breakfast items, but I'd recommend the place.

The towels were stained, and I found a long hair on the sheets. I'm bald, lol. I stayed Sunday through Friday, almost a full week, and never got room service. I was out early each morning and hadn't put anything on the door.

We won't stay here again. My son was also there with his family and two children under four, and I feel sorry for any family that chooses this hotel. Calling it filthy barely covers it. I expect a reduction on our two night stay, and I hope this reaches someone in management who will take a hard look at how the hotel is run. This isn't Marriott standards, and I'll send the same complaint to Mariott. At check in, we found dried urine on the toilet rim, an unemptied trash can, splatters on the mirror, and crumbs in carpet that hadn't been vacuumed. The sheets were clean. When we called the front desk, someone came up promptly to wipe the toilet and mirror and vacuum, but brought only two rags, and we didn't see any cleanser. The next night, there had been no linen service, so I went down to the desk. The popcorn in the elevator corner was still there from the previous night, and the hallway carpets looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. Behind the front desk, the floor also seemed unswept for weeks, and there was visible dust on the shelf and backdrop that looked untouched for some time.
