The front desk person was very nice, and the staff overall were kind. The long walk from our room to the lobby was a drawback, though they can’t control that, and with no elevator to the second floor it may not work well for people with physical disabilities. I wish the rooms were better cared for. We’d been looking forward to staying here after reading the reviews, but the online photos made the room look much nicer than it was. There was hair on nearly every pillow on both queen beds, as well as in the shower and inside the bed covers. When I asked for clean pillowcases, I was told there wouldn’t be enough for all the pillows with hair on them. I can understand if they were short, but I have OCD and couldn’t sleep with someone else’s hair against my face, or let anyone else in the room do that. It felt as though the bed had just been remade after the last guest, who hadn’t messed it up much. It was late and we just wanted to sleep, so we didn’t take photos.

The staff were really nice, but the hallways and room smelled awful. The room had a musty, bad odor, so I went out and bought air freshener because I couldn’t stand it. A lot of things were broken too, and the place didn’t feel well looked after. It was the cheapest hotel I could find, so I didn’t expect much, but I probably won’t return unless I have to. If you’re expecting somewhere clean and well maintained, this isn’t it.

The shower only got lukewarm, and after we went to the desk, the staff member said she had to reset the boiler and asked us to wait 30 minutes for the water to warm back up. She said it was a building-wide problem. We waited, but the temperature didn’t improve, and we all ended up taking cold showers. When I called again, the host wasn’t apologetic and said there was nothing she could do. I asked for a discount since warm water is a basic comfort, and was told I’d have to call the manager, who wouldn’t be in for two days. I can’t rate the place any lower. We’d been traveling cross-country, looked forward to the comfort of a hotel after a long day, and were initially greeted by friendly staff, but the room also had a somewhat smoky smell.

The king suite was clean, with a small terrace and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was served to us from chafing dishes. It’s conveniently located right off the highway, with everything close by. All in all, a great place, and we’d stay again.
