Lunch was amazing: I had the grilled trout sandwich with fries and a strawberry shake. The food and service have both been wonderful each time. My family and I found this place by chance a few years ago, and now we stop whenever we drive past. There's also a great gift shop packed with all kinds of things, including Native American treasures.

The food is well cooked and very inexpensive, with plenty of variety, plus desserts and coffee. One thing to know if you sit outside under the trees: go inside the cafe to place your order, since the staff might not realize you're out there.

The gift shop was great, and we liked the food so much we'll definitely stop again on our way out of Capitol Reef. Service was good too. The hotels look like somewhere we'd consider staying in the future.

Take time to slow down and enjoy the sights around Torrey, then stop at Capital Reef Cafe for a meal. We had breakfast, and Tessa made us feel very welcome as our waitress. The food was fantastic and we barely had to wait. The gift shop and the interesting grounds around the inn are more reasons to visit.

I had the fresh trout with fries and butternut squash, and it was delicious. The restaurant seems focused on food quality and taste rather than serving huge portions, which I love. Service was friendly, and our meal came without the unusually long wait some other reviews mention. The restaurant wasn't crowded when we went.
