Rodeway Inn & Suites

It's a standard motel, nothing fancy but not terrible. The rooms are small for how much furniture is packed in, and the pillows have no support at all, so bring your own. Cleaning could be better too, since we found hairs in several places, especially the bathroom. When our AC was fried, staff promptly moved us to another room. They were friendly, courteous, and attentive, and I would stay here again with my family.

The beds were comfortable, and the staff were fine and as helpful as they could be. Still, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The place is outdated and not very clean, with peeling wallpaper and mold near the sprinkler head. The refrigerator wasn't cold, either. For Friday and Saturday night this past weekend, I paid around $200, which isn't even that cheap.

Our non-smoking room was clean and had everything we needed, and the staff were great, friendly and professional. Late-night noise from other guests was annoying, though we did manage to sleep. The pool was okay, but there were things floating in it that we couldn't identify. People smoked in the open hallways, so the area smelled smoky despite our room being non-smoking.

The desk clerk was polite and eventually got the manager to approve a refund, though at first he said he didn't have the authority. He gave us a receipt showing a zero balance, but not the refund itself. We had asked for a non-smoking room because we're all non-smokers, and the person checking us in even stressed the $300 fee for smoking in the room. Yet our first room reeked of cigarettes despite looking freshly made up. The replacement room smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. We were tired and tried it anyway, but within five minutes of lying down I had an asthma attack and couldn't breathe, so we left. I've traveled for over 30 years for work and fun and never had a worse hotel experience.
