Motel 6 Townsend, GA

I pulled off the highway hoping to get some rest, and this Motel 6 surprised me. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and the stay was better than I expected. For the price, it’s a great hotel and much nicer than a typical Motel 6. I usually stay at Hilton properties, like Hampton or others, so I wasn’t expecting much. Having a full-service restaurant and convenience store on site was a big plus.

I was horrified. I paid for a room with my husband and two kids, but there was a roach in the refrigerator in room 105. He showed us room 107 next, where there were baby roaches in the fridge and a massive one by the bathroom. When he asked if everyone was okay, I told him what we’d found. He opened room 109, and there was a dead roach in the corner. I got a refund and left.

The room door didn’t lock properly, which made me nervous through the night. I also bumped into a nail sticking out of the wall, and there were holes in the walls that I stuffed with toilet paper. I did appreciate the parking lot lights, and was glad I could leave my truck parked under them.

There was mold in the rooms, dirty linens and floors, plus cracks and holes in the walls. Honestly, sleeping in your car would be better. If you need a hotel, I’d strongly suggest any other hotel or motel in the area.
