Ocean Club Treasure Island Hotel

We came back to the area after losing our condo in Hurricane Helene, needing to sort through what we had salvaged. Staying at Ocean Club Hotel on Treasure Island made a difficult trip feel much easier, and gave us some wonderful new memories. The staff were kind, energetic, and quick to help. Shelby, Leo, Reva, and everyone we encountered at the desk, bar, and housekeeping made us feel cared for. Reva runs a remarkably efficient housekeeping team, and the staff seemed to put their full effort into every day. The attention to upkeep was everywhere. Each morning someone dried the pool chairs and prepared the deck, and we saw the groundskeeper carefully clean and reset the sandy foot-washing area. Our suite had fresh, inviting linens, king and queen beds, bright showers with strong hot water that never ran out, and a kitchen equipped for cooking, with filtered water and ice in the fridge. The washer and dryer were useful too. We could watch the sunset from the balcony, while sunlight came into the kitchen as we made meals. Every room has an ocean view. From the back entrance, Treasure Island Beach Walk gives easy access to the beach and Publix. The pool and hot tub were refreshing during the day and lit up at night. Towels were collected and replaced at the door when needed, and the hall trash chute was convenient. We felt every need was handled quickly and kindly. Thank you, Ocean Club, for making an emotional hurricane recovery trip feel so welcoming.

We won't be returning to Ocean Club. The balcony was difficult to use because cigarette and marijuana smells drifted over from other units, and I think balconies need a no-smoking rule. The $45 nightly convenience or resort fee also felt too high for what it included. The pool seemed small for the size of the complex. The units themselves were clean and attractive, and the staff were friendly, though the general manager was not. The living room furniture wasn't practical or comfortable, and the bedroom mattresses had deep wear holes and were very uncomfortable. Road noise was heavy by the master bedroom, which should be switched with the queen bedroom.

We felt at home here and plan to make this our regular Treasure Island vacation spot. The building was immaculate, and the staff were helpful and friendly throughout the weekend. We met manager Shelby, who was professional and kind even when a medical emergency happened on our arrival day. She didn't make us feel like we were inconveniencing her, and we saw her around the building chatting with guests. My husband chose the property for our first visit to the area, and the reviews we'd read beforehand proved accurate. Thanks to Shelby and her staff for a memorable stay.

We spent four days at another resort and then two here. The staff were very accommodating while we traveled with my quadriplegic son, and after staying at Ocen Club Hotel I don't want to stay anywhere else. The rooms are beautiful, well stocked, and in what is probably the area's best facility right now. The views are beautiful too. We'll definitely be back.
