Treasure Island Sunset Beach Bungalow by Tech Travel

I came for a wedding and found the place very difficult to get around. The walkways are all sand, and the dune and loose sand are hard to cross, especially with a walker or wheelchair. There was only one restroom, and its door wouldn’t lock. Getting to the rooms meant taking a very narrow staircase that seniors could not manage. There was no parking either.

The house layout felt magical with everyone together for the week. The bride and groom rented the whole house, and we stayed in the cute bungalows downstairs on the left. Having the wedding and reception right on the beach made it such a fun time. A great choice for a beach wedding.

We booked our June stay in early January, but at 5:36 pm the night before check-in I got an email saying the house was no longer available. All 10 of us had flights to Tampa and nowhere to stay. They didn’t call me, only said they’d keep an eye on email in case I replied. I’ve seen a few other reviews like this, and wouldn’t recommend renting here.

The wedding itself was beautiful, and I loved the day. Still, the extra $4,500 on top of $4,200 for four nights to hold a wedding came with no services at all: no event or liability insurance, setup, cleanup, or even a courtesy room clean at checkout. We had to sweep sand through the three-floor house, take out the trash, wash every dish, and rake the backyard twice. The crew sent to blow the place clean did a poor job and left sharp burrs, about the size of walnuts, stuck in the sand and painful underfoot. We cleaned for hours after the wedding night and were still billed for something. I’m posting a price breakdown photo. Yes, I really stayed here, my wedding was the one with the burlap tables and drift wood arch. For that price, I’d rather stay at a hotel that includes coffee and cleanup. You can get married on nearly any beach for free, and a company can provide chairs and an arch for less.
