The Well Hotel & Taproom

The bed was really comfortable, and it was nice having a mini split for air conditioning. The accommodations were clean and stylish, with everything we needed. We love staying right in the heart of downtown Trinidad. Also, that Marshall amp fridge is cool! 💕

The Taproom downstairs kept things lively until it closed, and there are quite a few stairs. Neither bothered us, but they may be worth knowing about before you book. We had a fantastic stay, enjoyed the great vibe, and had fun spending the evening in The Taproom. The room was comfortable, and we’d happily come back. Highly recommended.

I’m glad I found The Well, and I’ll stay here again next time I’m passing through Trinidad. It’s a more interesting experience than a chain hotel, with no real difference in price. The property’s historic character is still there, alongside useful touches like coded keypads instead of cards or apps, beer you can pour yourself, and tastefully lit rooms with lighted mirrors. The pleasant, helpful staff know the historic property and had good recommendations around town.

The restaurant is worth a visit. The lamb gyro and green chili sandwiches were phenomenal, and the pour-your-own beer and cocktail station was a fun touch. This place has a distinctive boutique feel in the heart of downtown, and the kind, helpful staff made our stay special. If you’re tired of cookie-cutter hotels, this spot is a breath of fresh air.
