The house was so cold, with a broken heater and drafty windows, that I struggled to sleep. We ended up buying extra clothes at Ruby’s just to stay warm. It would've cost nearly twice as much to stay there, and it would have been worth it. Camping would've been better. The kitchen was badly stocked: although the place is meant for 12 and there were seven of us, we had just one tiny baking dish and not enough cookware. The oven worked, but there was no dishwasher detergent, no laundry detergent for the washer and dryer, and no trash bags or way to replace the can liners. The house smelled unpleasant, we saw evidence of mice, and the laundry room was full of cobwebs. Check-in was a hassle. We couldn't reach the listed property phone number for instructions because no one answered and the mailbox was full. I eventually got the details through Expedia chat, which sent us to Red Ledges. We went to the Red Ledges office to report our concerns, but it was dark and locked with no one there. The same thing happened at checkout. This Bryce Countryside Residence at 41 Bryce Way is poorly managed by Red Ledges. Photos show the dirty surfaces, cobwebs, unfinished flooring, and thermostat.

The room itself was basic and dated, but it was clean, comfortable, and a good price. The front desk woman was helpful, breakfast was included, and although we left too early to eat, they gave us a sack breakfast when we asked at check-in. It's also a short drive to Bryce Canyon. Even so, my experience at Red Ledges went from four stars to one. I was charged twice, first through the booking platform and then again at check-in. I called at least five times about a refund and reached someone only once. She told me to email the details to the owners' Gmail, which I did, but no one replied or acted on it. There was no other contact method, and the email isn't listed online. The motel didn't answer when I called back, and there was no answering machine. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I eventually got my money back, but the whole thing wasted a lot of time and energy. I wouldn't stay again. I'd pay more to go elsewhere.

The room was clean and the continental breakfast was fair. But it didn't feel especially welcoming or comfortable, and the ice machine was broken. I was also disappointed that everything came with Styrofoam cups and bowls and individual plastic shampoo bottles. It didn't feel environmentally conscious.

It's in a great spot for the park, and there's a rooster living across the street! The place is very old and run-down, though. I wouldn't walk barefoot in the room, and the shower didn't drain. Breakfast was just toast, a bagel, and coffee.
