Motel 6 Troy, IL

The front desk clerk was kind and accommodating, and getting a refund for the second night was no problem. We had to leave by morning, though, after I developed what seemed like a full allergic reaction. The room was filthy and in terrible shape. There was food on the floor, something splattered on the wall in the main room and bathroom, and the bathroom was dirty. The wall was rotting in the lower corner by the window, and the bedspread had burn holes. When we returned from dinner, there was a horrible smell in our room, much worse in the hallway. It was like a whole crew had taken off their foul work boots at once, or like sweaty gym clothes and shoes left in a locker over Spring Break. After sitting on the bed in my nightgown, the backs of my legs started stinging. By morning the reaction was full-blown, so we left.

I’ve never stayed in a motel this disgusting. The room had bedbugs and roaches, smelled horrible, and the customer service was awful. I threw away everything I’d brought in because I was afraid of taking bugs home. It was that bad.

The hotel was quiet, my room had been cleaned, and the man who checked me in was really friendly. They also let me bring my dog.

I was discriminated against because I had my service animal, and now I’ve been told that my belongings, which were supposed to be kept at the front desk until I could collect them, were thrown away. I want the names of the staff who work here. I’ll call tomorrow morning to speak with the “manager,” the tall man with glasses who acts like he owns the place and can treat people however he wants. I’ll be in touch soon.
