The friendly receptionist and location were the only real positives. For what we paid, I expected much more. The rooms were tiny, the carpets dirty, and some equipment was broken. There’s no central air, there was a lot of noise, and even basic details seemed to get very little attention. It felt like not much had been done since the place was built 50 years ago. Other options nearby cost less than half as much. It's a shame they don't put more care into making guests comfortable.

The room was hot enough to feel like a sauna, even with the heat and thermostat off, and staff suggested opening the patio door to cool it down. The bedframe stuck out 4-6 inches past the mattress and bruised my shins more than once. Water from the shower could suddenly turn scalding, the TV didn't work, and the internet was slow. After about 40 seconds, the microwave tripped the surge protector unless I unplugged the mini fridge. For this price, the inflexible cancellation policy and poor service are hard to accept. It felt like a sub-$100 room with another $400 charged for the convenient location. You wouldn't guess the travel industry is working hard for customers during a pandemic.
I was worried after reading the other reviews, but our room was okay. The AC didn't cool it much, though opening a window helped get air moving. One of the beds in our room was much more worn than the other, which felt pretty gross. We did have nice toiletries, a coffee maker, and a refrigerator. We could use the recreation center, but didn't. The Northstar resort shops were close by.
It's hard to beat the spot, right in the village, with Starbucks and Lulu visible from the balcony. The room itself seemed old and dingy, though the bed, TV, microwave, and fridge were nice. It smelled strongly of cleaner when we arrived, possibly because of the serious bathroom problems. The floor around the toilet is rotted. I'm glad we stayed, but wouldn't return unless the price came down or they renovated.
The check-in staff were friendly, but after seeing three rooms it was clear that upkeep and updates are minimal. I travel about half the year and this felt like a two-star hotel charging four-star prices, mostly for the location. The first room faced a parking lot and loading dock, so after reading about snowplows and beeping delivery trucks, we asked to move. The next faced the village, but the unit above it was being gutted. We only found out at 8 a.m. when power tools started up and kept going. We moved again, and that room was fine. I'd only stay here again if I planned to spend very little time in the room, could get a village-facing one, and knew there was no construction. The gondola is a three-minute walk away.
