SpringHill Suites by Marriott Truckee Lake Tahoe

We had a lovely couples getaway here and would happily come back. The hotel felt peaceful, comfortable, and romantic, with a spacious, clean room and a calm, well-kept atmosphere. We especially enjoyed unwinding by the outdoor seating and fire pit in the evenings. It’s close to everything but still quiet. The staff were kind, welcoming, and professional throughout our stay. Every interaction felt genuine, and they were always glad to help, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. A great pick for a relaxing Tahoe trip with friendly staff.

The location was nice, near Tahoe’s North Shore and several ski resorts, but the hotel is showing its age. In our room, the bathroom tiles were cracked and the shower caddy was rusty. The bathroom fan ran constantly with no way to turn it off, which could bother light sleepers. The in-room fridge could only stay on for two hours at a time, another small annoyance since you can’t keep anything cold overnight. The main problem was the heat. It was 18 degrees outside, but our room felt like an oven. I tried several heat settings without success and eventually had to leave the AC running constantly. Needless to say, I slept badly. I told the front desk about the problems the next morning, and all they said was that they’d have maintenance take a look.

The staff were nice, and being close to downtown Truckee was convenient. The stay was alright, though. Only one small elevator was working, and the room had a couple of problems: the shower door wouldn’t open or close fully, and the bathroom door didn’t line up properly or lock.

We keep choosing this place when my partner and I visit Truckee. The rooms are roomy, and the carpet, which I’m not usually a fan of, looked well cared for. Staff are welcoming and know their stuff. Breakfast comes with the stay, which is a real plus given how expensive meals around here can be. There’s a little lobby shop for essentials, though grocery stores are nearby if you need more. Downtown Truckee is less than a five-minute drive away.
