Comfort Inn & Suites

We had to change rooms because the first one didn't have a fold-out couch. In the replacement, there were holes in the walls, stains on the floor and closet, and a ringing sound that never stopped. The bathroom sink sprayed everywhere. I've recently stayed at two Comfort Inn & Suites locations, and both were awful. I can't think of a single good thing to say. There doesn't seem to be much care put into maintaining these places, and management needs to do a better job. I'd give this zero if I could, but one is the lowest rating available.

We checked out at 9:30am on 11-27-2025 and still couldn't get a refund. They only credited us for the second day we had planned to stay, even though we cut our trip short and had to disinfect all our clothes in case bugs had come with us. I complained again after getting home and still heard nothing. I'll keep pursuing this until I get a result. We checked into Comfort Inn and Suits at 4740 Norrell Dr, Trussville Ala, on 11-26-2025 at 4:37 pm. A couple of hours later, bugs were flying around, roaches were everywhere, and there was a nest in the ceiling. The front desk put me on hold and ignored me, so we went there in person to report it and ask for a refund. They refused. We asked them to call the police; when officers arrived, they couldn't do anything about the refund and told us to contact the manager. The manager also refused, even after we showed pictures. We were offered another room, but roaches were crawling there too and it smelled awful. We stayed only because it was too late to find another hotel. We didn't sleep because we were worried about bugs crawling on our bodies or into our ears, and we could have gotten sick. This place is unsanitary and infested. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there.

The woman setting out breakfast was really nice, but the food itself was not good. The second-floor hallway smelled terrible, and even after I used Lysol on everything, I didn't want to touch things in the room. The stay was okay, but I'd pay more to stay somewhere better.

The front desk woman was kind and replaced the bedding when I reported a problem, but I still didn't feel comfortable. I stayed in room 310 at the Comfort Inn in Trussville, Alabama, and ended up canceling my whole trip and going home the next day. I rarely write bad reviews, so you know it was really bad. The room had a wet mildew or mold smell when I first walked in. I tried cleaning things myself and spraying to cover the odor. After I came back from breakfast the next morning, the room looked fine until I turned down the covers and saw a large brown stain on the sheets, as shown in the picture. It made me think the rooms weren't being properly cleaned or changed between guests. Walking past room 312, I saw the housekeeper had taken all the sheets and covers off, leaving the mattress exposed. It had huge brown stains all over it. I went back and checked my own mattress, and it was covered in what looked like old urine stains. I was furious and showed the pictures to Michael at the front desk. He showed no empathy, only said, “Sorry that happened to you,” then went into the back as if it were nothing. Even the cleaning supplies I always bring couldn't make this situation okay. It's unsanitary, unsafe, and unacceptable. No guest should have to deal with something this nasty. I'll contact the health department. If you care about cleanliness, safety, or basic respect, skip this place. Stay at your own risk. Don't say I didn't tell you.
