Ace Lodge

I stayed one night while passing through and would happily return. The room was quaint and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and I slept great. It was easy to find, and I was glad to get an actual room key. The woman at the lobby was so sweet and friendly. At $44 plus tax, it was a great deal, better than some three-star hotels I’ve stayed in. I’ve bookmarked it and recommend it.

The woman at the counter was incredibly sweet, and the staff were very friendly. Our room was huge, with two really comfortable beds, and the giant AC unit worked great, even if its placement in the middle of the wall looked odd. It was furnished simply with a bedside table and lamp, a table and two chairs, a fridge, microwave, and TV. The biggest issue was that Wi-Fi didn’t reach room 17 at all. We had hoped to plan our route, but couldn’t even check Google Maps. The room seemed clean, though there was hair on the bed linens. I know it can be hard to get every hair out of sheets and pillowcases, but I’ve seen hotels manage it well, and I think they should.

The rooms are dated, but there were no bugs, and there’s a fridge and microwave in the room. It was very affordable, and the staff were friendly even though we checked in at 1 a.m. The shower was my one concern: you have to step up from the floor, and the curtain doesn’t reach far enough, so the floor was slippery when I stepped back down.

We’ve been staying at Ace Lodge Motel for about two months while working in town through the end of May. We’d never been to Truth or Consequences before, and we’ve enjoyed this quiet little town. We work a lot and spend most of our time in the room, so it matters that it’s clean, spacious, and pet friendly. There’s direct TV, plenty of parking, a clean lot, and hot water. It feels homey, too. The owners are wonderful and have given us a lot of attention and help. We’d absolutely stay here again. The price is great, and I highly recommend it. Thanks for having us and for all the help.
