No complaints. For the price, it was pretty good: the bathroom was clean, the sheets were clean, and the AC, TV, and fridge all worked and were in good shape. The people were nice, too. No bugs.

The neighborhood has a bad reputation, which is too bad, because this place itself feels like a quiet, low-traffic pocket among all the old, outdated places in Tucson. The rates are good and in line with others nearby. The owners are really nice and make sure you have what you need, and the place is clean and tidy, no roaches or bed bugs, and no half-made beds. Some rooms also have a soaker tub that’s amazing. And those mattresses, wow. They’re new memory foam, and I have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning. Honestly, I don’t know what the negative reviews are about.

Do not stay at this hotel. The area is terrible, and so is the place itself. One reason I’m sure the sheets aren’t changed often: we stayed in room #107 on a Tuesday night, and my girlfriend accidentally burned a hole in the sheet with a cigarette, leaving a mark on the bed too. We came back the next Tuesday and rented #107 again. When we pulled back the comforter, as we do at every hotel because those rarely get washed, the sheet had the exact same hole in the exact same spot, and the mattress had the same burn mark. It’s nearly impossible that the bed was made the same way with those marks lining up if the sheets had been changed. The black, sooty part of the burn still brushed off easily, which it wouldn’t have after washing. That means guests could have been using the same sweaty, dirty, stained sheets for almost a week. That’s just one of dozens of things I could list.

The strict no-refund policy means our stuff might have cockroach eggs in it now. The bugs weren’t even the worst part. We waited 20 minutes for our prepaid room, and the first room had an unmade bed and smelled of cigarettes. We were moved to a non-smoking room, but it was on the side of the building where you can’t park. The bed looked clean at first, but had noodles and hair in it. Roaches showed up within the first half hour and kept appearing over the next two days. The place looks like a crack den, with dime bags scattered around the parking lot. I wish I could give zero stars.
